About The Position

The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing and delivering consistent, high quality baked goods and confections while providing exceptional customer service, presentation, and a clean and safe environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least six months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Knowledge of bakery/culinary supplies, equipment and facilities.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to prepare and bake a variety of pastries and baked goods.
  • Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
  • Pastry Certification
  • 6 months or more experience in a fast pace kitchen environment
  • 6 months or more experience in a bakery
  • Able to stand for the entire shift
  • Lift up to 30lbs (as needed)
  • Work with hands and fingers frequently (crop, cut, stock, label, etc)
  • The physical demands for this position are sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares pastries on a daily basis, including cookies, cakes, brownies, bars, truffles, icing, frosting, etc. according to established recipes.
  • Reviews production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake, as well as supplies and equipment needed.
  • Gathers ingredients and other supplies from main kitchen and/or pantry, as needed.
  • Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils and equipment.
  • Tends to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and/or ingredients.
  • Works with other team members to complete production sheets and other tasks as required.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain pace due to event schedule.
  • May be asked to show new team members standard operating procedures.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
