Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher preferred
Prior experience in medical billing, patient accounts, or healthcare administration is a plus
Strong knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Knowledge of insurance policies, coding, and billing regulations
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Manage patient accounts by processing payments, adjustments, and collections accurately and efficiently
Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements, insurance claims, and payment options
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility to facilitate accurate billing
Collaborate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations
Reconcile accounts and prepare reports related to billing and collections
Assist in the preparation of billing documentation and ensure timely submission of claims
Educate patients on their financial responsibilities and available payment plans
