Patient Care Director - RN – Radiation Oncology & Gamma Knife At NewYork-Presbyterian, our oncology service line is at the forefront of a bold new era. We delivered the first intra-arterial Avastin directly into a malignant brain tumor and pioneered the use of low-dose CT scanning for early detection of lung cancer, and more breakthroughs are on the way. From bone marrow transplant, hematological malignancies, to solid tumor cancers, and many other conditions, we see the widest variety of cases from around the world. Advance your career as a Patient Care Director within Radiation Oncology and the Gamma Knife Program at NewYork Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. In this role, you would work collaboratively with the Chair of Radiation Oncology, the physician leadership of the Gamma Knife Program, and the Neurosurgery partners to provide the strategic direction and nursing leadership of these areas. Maintain an autonomous environment that inspires nurses to reach their full potential. Drive strategic initiatives that shape the future of emergency care and align with hospital-wide goals. Regularly assess unit operations and identify process improvements to enhance the patient experience. Assume front-line responsibility for the unit's fiscal performance, resource allocation, scheduling, staff evaluation, and patient care delivery on a 24-hour basis. Excel as a change agent, advancing initiatives focused on enhancing quality and performance throughout the unit, caring for a variety of patient populations. This is a full-time position at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center in Upper Manhattan.

Requirements

  • At least three years of Radiation Oncology experience
  • Progressive Leadership experience in Nursing
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field
  • Current New York State RN license
  • BCLS certification
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of leadership experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading unit development
  • Experience with union environments
  • Certification as a Nurse Executive
