Patient Care Technician/PCT - Special Care Nursery/NICU (Per Diem)
About The Position
When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives. This is a per diem position, with a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week. Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) is a 48-bed unit, Levels 2 & 3 Nursery. Care in the NICU is delivered using an individualized, developmentally-supportive, family-centered approach aimed at enhancing the physiologic stability of the infant and providing an environment for the infant’s optimal developmental outcome. Parents and family are an integral part of the infant’s life. An interdisciplinary collaborative care delivery model is used. This unit is looking for nursing co-ops who are going on their 2nd or 3rd co-op. Collaborates with an inpatient nursing team to provide quality patient care.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 0-1 years related work experience required.
- Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with a registered nurse on developing a patient's care plan.
- Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse.
- Maintains the safety of patients who have been identified at risk for preventable injury by the implementation of nursing safety interventions or the use of protective devices/equipment under the supervision of the registered nurse.
- Reports all patient activity to the registered nurse in a timely manner.
