Environment of Care Department Highlights: A well-maintained department Great culture Room for growth and opportunity Here’s What You Need High School Diploma or Equivalent required Completion of required pre-requisites ICS 100/200/700, AWR-160, and PPE Assignment 90 days required and HERT - Hospital Emergency Response Training after pre-requisites are complete 90 days required What You Will Do Maintain active membership in the hospital Patient Decontamination program/team Initial participation: Attain appropriate departmental written approval to participate on the Patient Decontamination Team Complete the OSHA Medical Clearance requirements through Employee Health Provide current personal contact information for the purposes of emergency deployment?? actively maintain information in Peoplesoft Training: Read decontamination plans, policies, procedures and job action sheets (JAS) applicable to deployment of the Patient Decontamination Team. Complete 16 hours of initial training to include: National Emergency Response Hospital Incident Command Introduction to Hazardous Materials Hazardous materials Properties and Effects Recognizing and Identifying the Hazards Hazardous Materials Toxicology Health Effects of CBRNE Radiological Hazards Chemical Hazards (Terrorism) Biological Hazards Complete 4 hours of Quarterly Training to include: Risk Assessment Techniques Personal Protective Equipment Protection Actions/Notifications/Additional Resources Patient Presentation and Hospital Decontamination Hospital Decontamination Procedures Security Emergency Treatment Area Practical (30 min) PPE Don/DOF/Wear Drills and Scenarios Skills rotations and Hands on training: Cut out, Survey & Monitoring, Triage, Technical Decontamination, Donning and Doffing, Ambulatory & non-Ambulatory Decontamination Meetings Attend regularly scheduled quarterly Patient Decontamination Task Force meetings Additional perks of being a Patient Decontamination Team Member Benefits include 401k, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Discount Programs, as well as other benefits.
