About The Position

The Patient Education Manager is responsible for overseeing all Gifthealth Patient Education Specialists. This role is accountable for driving exceptional patient and client experiences through effective patient care management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. This role is both strategic and hands-on, balancing people leadership, performance management, and process optimization to deliver measurable improvements in patient and client satisfaction. We are seeking a Patient Education Specialists to partner cross-functionally to resolve complex issues at scale, improve satisfaction metrics, and ensure the Patient Education Specialists team operates efficiently, compliantly, and consistently. This position plays a key role in supporting the Customer Success Team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, operational excellence, and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Required)
  • Active nursing license
  • 5-8 years of clinical nursing experience (Required)
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and standards of care; adult learning principles; common medical conditions, treatments, medications, and diagnostic procedures; regulatory and accreditation standards, patient-centered communication, and quality improvement and outcomes measurement (Required)
  • Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (Required)
  • Excellent leadership and performance management skills (Required)
  • Program design, project management, and curriculum development skills (Required)
  • Ability to lead a team to consistent, high-quality delivery of desired patient outcomes (Required)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Training in Pediatric and Adult Education; Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist; Prior Authorization experience; Obesity Management (Preferred)
  • 10+ years of clinical nursing experience (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, chronic disease management, preventative care, and wellness education; and emerging treatment protocols (Preferred)
  • Advanced curriculum design, facilitation, and train-the-trainer skills (Preferred)
  • Ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage vendor relationships and content standards (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Leads the patient education team by providing direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality, evidence-based educational services
  • Oversees daily operations of the patient education program, including workflow management, resource allocation, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Manages the coordination, quality, and consistency of patient education experiences, guiding staff in delivering effective, evidence-based instruction that supports patient understanding and outcomes
  • Develops and tracks key performance metrics for the patient education program, evaluating staff performance, identifying trends, and implementing improvements to ensure high-quality, measurable educational outcomes
  • Drives strategic initiatives that advance the patient education program, aligning goals with organizational priorities and fostering innovation in patient learning and engagement
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements by maintaining accurate documentation, overseeing reporting processes, and implementing governance practices that support the quality and integrity of patient education services
