FTE: 0.01, Shift: Day, Schedule: Variable Position Summary Responsible for safely transporting patients and clinical equipment throughout all service areas of the hospital. Delivers, picks up, organizes, stores, cleans and maintains equipment used in patient transport and patient care. Provides excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff. As a Patient Equipment Transport Services Technician at MultiCare, you will collaborate with nursing staff, hone your decision-making capabilities, and enjoy daily variety and problem-solving opportunities.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Current BLS Certification
- Successful completion of in-house training program on patient lift and mobility within 6 months of placement in job
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of previous transport or related healthcare experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and timely transport of patients, beds, oxygen, supplies and equipment throughout the facility.
- Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs, stretchers, gurneys and all other patient transport equipment.
- Respond to patient fall codes by transporting patient lift equipment and assisting nursing staff, as required.
- Maintain clinical equipment by adhering to manufacturers recommended cleaning protocols.
- Effectively prioritize and apply organization and flexibility to your work duties.
- Deliver supplies and equipment to requesting departments, obtaining confirmation of receipt for item delivered, and assist the department with unloading of items.
- Collect soiled equipment from around the facility, following established infection prevention guidelines.
- Distribute and clean clinical equipment, also set’s PAR levels on clinical floors.
- Assist/supports ordering and discharge of rental clinical equipment.
- Maintain accurate clinical rental equipment logs or documentation.
- Participate in all phases of equipment recalls and conversions throughout the facilities, locates and secures equipment and processes according to operational procedures or manufacturer's instructions.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment in the clean equipment room and other supply chain designated areas, to include keeping those areas free of fire and safety hazards.
