About The Position
Join Our Team as a Patient Escort I – Day Shift (Full-Time) Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference in a healthcare setting? We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Patient Escort I to join our team and support patient care by ensuring safe and timely transportation throughout the hospital. Position Details Location: Christiana Hospital – Newark Campus Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Additional Requirements: Every other weekend and participation in a holiday rotation What You’ll Do: Safely transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or specialized vehicle to and from various hospital departments. Assist clinical staff with patient transfers. Maintain and care for transport equipment. Attend training sessions and departmental meetings. Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma preferred.
- 2 years of customer service experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Must be able to obtain BLS certification upon hire.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods
- Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
- Knowledge of hospital layout and body mechanics
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Responsibilities
