Patient Access Services Coordinator position duties include, but are not limited to the following: Assist the Manager and Director in all duties as assigned and keeps the Manager and Director informed of issues. Responsible for supervising the multiple facets of patient access services. Emphasizes high level of patient satisfaction, being sensitive to the all standards of performance and leadership core standards. Responsible to maintain a competent, highly trained staff and ensure a high level of accuracy and completeness from scheduling, pre-registration, financial clearance process, through discharge. Serves as a resource person in problem identification and solving and effectively interacts with ancillary departments, patients, physicians, patient financial services, case management, and their staff. The responsibility for this department is on a 24-hour basis. Ensure proper staffing structure for appropriate oversight of access system operations for all positions needed. Utilize and maintain our Quality Assurance program to measure the performance of staff in obtaining and developing current accurate and complete registration information. Provide coaching and training to ensure for the desired performance. Ensure to meet Industry Standards for registrations and POS Collections. Ensure a strong presence within department, ancillary departments, and or physicians related to the particular area of supervision. Plus, ensure strong communication exists between the other ancillary departments’ leaders and you. Ensure training for new hires, and retraining on any system upgrades or enhancements is completed within timeframe assigned.
