About The Position

The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the Practice. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, efficient, and supportive experience across multiple specialties, including Primary Care, Walk-Ins, Vascular Surgery, and Behavioral Health. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and comfortable interacting with a high volume of patients throughout the day.

Requirements

  • Healthcare or general medical office experience with a strong customer service background
  • Ability to manage high patient volume (150–200 patients per day)
  • Strong communication skills and a patient, understanding demeanor
  • Comfortable working with individuals of all backgrounds and abilities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EMRs; Epic experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in patient access, medical reception, or insurance verification

Responsibilities

  • Complete check-in procedures for all specialties within the practice
  • Greet patients, verify demographics, and ensure accuracy of all required information
  • Maintain a professional, patient-centered environment throughout the day
  • Collect necessary documentation from referring providers
  • Ensure accurate submission of required information to third-party payers
  • Schedule follow-up appointments in accordance with system guidelines
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and co-pay amounts using online systems
  • Enter insurance and billing data accurately to meet compliance standards
  • Communicate coverage details to patients clearly and professionally
  • Coordinate patient appointments across multiple specialties
  • Follow established scheduling protocols to optimize provider availability
  • Utilize EMRs and internal systems to manage patient information
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold privacy standards
  • Demonstrate empathy and professionalism in all patient interactions
