About The Position

The Registration Clerk is a key member of the Admissions team, responsible for welcoming patients, completing registration tasks in EPIC, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and ensuring a smooth, directing patient where to go, and supportive experience for everyone entering the hospital. This role is patient-facing and requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Healthcare experience (must have)
  • Customer service experience in a patient-facing or fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn EPIC workflows
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Provide clear directions to departments, clinics, and service areas.
  • Support a welcoming and organized Admissions environment.
  • Register new and existing patients in EPIC, including:
  • Looking up patient records
  • Entering and updating demographic information
  • Verifying insurance coverage
  • Collecting co-pays and required payments
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with departmental and hospital standards.
  • Answer incoming calls and return messages promptly.
  • Provide information or route callers to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain excellent customer service through all communication channels.
  • Collaborate with Admissions team members to maintain smooth patient flow.
  • Follow established procedures for documentation, policies, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Support additional clerical duties as assigned.
