About The Position

The Registration Clerk is a key member of the Admissions team, responsible for welcoming patients, completing registration tasks in EPIC, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and ensuring a smooth, directing patient where to go, and supportive experience for everyone entering the hospital. This role is patient-facing and requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Requirements

Healthcare experience (must have)
Customer service experience in a patient-facing or fast-paced environment
Proficiency with computer systems and the ability to learn EPIC workflows
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner.
Provide clear directions to departments, clinics, and service areas.
Support a welcoming and organized Admissions environment.
Register new and existing patients in EPIC, including:
Looking up patient records
Entering and updating demographic information
Verifying insurance coverage
Collecting co-pays and required payments
Ensure accuracy and compliance with departmental and hospital standards.
Answer incoming calls and return messages promptly.
Provide information or route callers to appropriate departments.
Maintain excellent customer service through all communication channels.
Collaborate with Admissions team members to maintain smooth patient flow.
Follow established procedures for documentation, policies, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
Support additional clerical duties as assigned.
