About The Position

May require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedures that require the use of non-prescription medications. Performs responsibilities accurately, timely, and safely for assigned patients/area Communicates and informs appropriate personnel, patients and family members of pertinent information in a timely manner Maintains accurate paper and electronic documentation Utilizes equipment and supplies safely and appropriately; orders supplies as needed; labels specimens correctly Performs basic nursing care, simple and complex procedures, multiple treatments, waived testing and transports assigned patients Shows proficiency in blood collection and performs task in timely and accurate manner Performs other duties as assigned Supervisory/Management Responsibility This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Requirements

  • Education - Successful completion of a tech training course as evidenced by a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam or nursing fundamentals from an accredited organization. Successful completion of a phlebotomy course from an accredited organization is required. Medical Assistant Training is acceptable. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience - One (1) year of nurse tech hospital experience or skilled nursing facility is required if the candidate does not meet all of the educational requirements.
  • Heart Saver certification
  • Candidate must successfully complete the System's phlebotomy course and training within 90 days of hire
  • Computer proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of NT/NA experience preferred.
  • Three (3) months of phlebotomy experience preferred.
