General Summary: Under general supervision, administers payroll for all or a portion of the company’s employees, including, but not limited to, hourly and salaried payroll, payroll differentials, overtime and Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Sick Leave (PSL). Prepares payroll journal entries and account reconciliations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Processes, maintains and updates bi-weekly payroll using Ceridian Dayforce payroll software. Completes journal entries including standard, transaction and payroll entries ensuring accuracy and timeliness according to the closing schedule of the general ledger. Serves as primary payroll contact, responsible for all payroll related corrections and adjustments. Partners closely with Human Resources on troubleshooting payroll issues, payroll reporting/accuracy and other payroll related tasks. May update/correct employee information such as tax withholdings amounts and direct deposit information. May update/correct employee timesheets as necessary. Downloads from the payroll Journal entries including the payroll monthly accrual. Audits data for accuracy and submits to the Controller for approval. Uploads and posts to general ledger.Responsible for monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts relating to payroll. Provide OT and PTO reports by cost center to management when requested. Administers payroll garnishments and other payroll deductions.Conducts routine audits on payroll systems reports and journal entries. Provides required payroll information for the annual external audit. Prepares documentation/reports for the annual 401(k) audit. Prepares documentation/reports for the annual Workers Comp. audit Reviews W-2’s for accuracy before sending to employees. Responds to inquiries regarding W2s. Utilizes analytical problem-solving skills, informing supervisor of areas requiring review. Interfaces with human resources, managers and employees to resolve discrepancies with payroll and responds to payroll inquires. Performs work in a team environment with the shared goal of providing accurate, timely and relevant financial information. Expected to stay current on all payroll laws and legislation. Responsible for following any policies, procedures, and controls established by the organization, the HIPAA Privacy Officer, and/or the HIPAA Security Officer regarding access to, protection of, and the use of the PHI. Performs other related duties as assigned or necessary as it relates to the general nature of the position.
