About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support weekly payroll processing and employee record maintenance in a fast-paced construction environment. This role is responsible for assisting with timesheet review and entry, payroll auditing, employee inquiries, payroll reporting, and administrative support related to payroll compliance and record keeping. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and has strong analytical skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Previous payroll or construction administration experience is a plus.

Requirements

  • 1- 2 years of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of payroll processes and timekeeping systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
  • Confidentiality and professionalism are a must.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude who enjoys supporting others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction or labor-intensive industry a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing weekly payroll for multiple employee types, including traveling field employees as well as salaried staff.
  • Enter and review employee timecards daily, checking job codes, labor hours and overtime.
  • Audit timesheets for accuracy and follow up with employees and supervisors regarding missing or incorrect hours.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and general ledger support.
  • Support certified payroll reporting, fringe benefit tracking and prevailing wage documentation as needed.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Update employee payroll profiles, including tax withholding and direct deposit changes.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and payroll documentation.
  • Communicate with employees regarding corrections, deductions, and payroll policies.
  • Assist with tracking new hires, terminations, rate changes, and status updates.
  • Work closely with HR and project managers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure payroll processes follow company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support compliance with labor, wage, and certified payroll requirements (Davis-Bacon, DIR, LCPtracker, UTRACS).
  • Assist with payroll reporting for management and audits.
