The Payroll Analyst will regularly monitor and update the HRIS and timekeeping systems to ensure data integrity of employee records, as well as ensure federal and state compliance.    The Payroll Analyst plays a key role in safeguarding payroll accuracy, maintaining data integrity, analyzing and resolving discrepancies, and providing responsive, high-quality service to employees and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems, with advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP); working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict payroll deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across HR, Finance, and operational teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach to resolving payroll inquiries.
  • trong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve payroll discrepancies independently.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll data.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing in a multi-state, multi-unit environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with ADP, Ultimate Software or Kronos or similar payroll systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, position changes, changes to pay rates, and garnishments. 
  • Analyzes, resolves discrepancies, prepares, and inputs payroll data to meet weekly payroll processing deadlines 
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. 
  • Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS (hires, terms, LOA’s, rate changes, tax changes, health & welfare deductions, etc.) 
  • Regularly performs audits of employee information within HRIS and timekeeping systems to ensure accuracy of records and to maintain data integrity 
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws 
  • Prepares and files requests for employment verification, payroll and labor utilization reports, and garnishment information requests. 
  • Provides customer service to internal customers in the areas of pay, taxes, deductions, PTO, data requests (reports), and time management. 
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. 
  • Identifies and recommends improvements for established payroll processes and procedures. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
