About The Position

Reporting to the Head of Compensation and Finance, the Payroll & Expense Administrator will be an integral part of the Finance Department, guaranteeing pay is processed on time on a bi-weekly basis including reviewing and approving employee expense reimbursements as well as serve as the point of contact for employees as it relates to payroll and withholdings. This role will also collaborate closely with Human Resources to ensure time and attendance is processed promptly and that all new hires and terminations are correctly reflected in each payroll cycle. The Payroll & Expense Administrator will also manage employee credit card records, including reviewing and approving expenses and keeping cardholder information up to date. They will maintain records for our Special Events program, ensuring event expenses are coded accurately by working closely with Front of House staff. In addition, this role will ensure employee records are current across all accounting systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience processing payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll functions; familiarity with Federal and State employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, etc.).
  • Experience in the Paylocity or other cloud based HRIS/payroll system.
  • Extensive experience in payroll systems: research, implementation, technology, employee education.
  • Knowledge of income withholding orders (Child Support, levy, etc.).
  • Impeccable attention to detail and analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient multi-tasker who is able to retain composure under pressure.
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and web-based applications
  • Confident in reviewing own work to guarantee accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • A flexible team player who enjoys challenges, collaboration, and innovation.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Bilingual skills: English/Spanish helpful
  • Experience in a not-for-profit setting or cultural institution
