As the Payroll Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the College’s payroll, classification, and compensation processes. This role is essential in supporting operational excellence and delivering a seamless employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; and
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience; or
  • A combination of education and experience.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage complex payroll processes with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Have experience with ERP systems (Workday preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Have prior experience in higher education (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Managing payroll, classification, and compensation processes for the College.
  • Processing payrolls (on-demand, retroactive, and monthly) and ensuring accuracy through detailed review and reconciliation.
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies, including overpayments, underpayments, and direct deposit errors.
  • Overseeing W-2 and W-2C processing and ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations.
  • Managing tax integration within Workday and preparing disbursement requests for Financial Services.
  • Developing, implementing, and updating payroll, classification, and compensation policies and procedures.
  • Preparing payroll estimates, reports, and supporting Salary Schedule development for Board approval.
  • Supporting internal and external audits by providing accurate payroll and classification data.
  • Partnering with Academic Affairs to ensure accurate faculty and adjunct compensation.
  • Collaborating with the Business Analyst on system updates, EIB loads, and process improvements.
  • Working closely with the Benefits team to ensure accurate payroll deductions.
  • Supervising the payroll and classification team, including performance management, coaching, and development.
  • Ensuring team effectiveness and alignment with Human Resources and College priorities.
