Compiles payroll data to maintain and complete payroll records, for multiple states, by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Compiles payroll data such as hours worked and benefit time from Kronos and other records. Verify timecard data for compliance with federal and state agencies in addition to Company policy, as well as any corrections necessary to both the timekeeping and Payroll software. Enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records. Reviews wages computed and corrects any errors to ensure the accuracy of payroll. Reviews bank data necessary to complete direct deposit. Records data concerning the transfer of employees between departments. Keeps track of leave pay and nontaxable wages. Track and reconcile various weekly deductions for employees on unpaid leave. Verify PTO usage is in accordance with Company policies. Keeps track of overtime and provides a weekly report to management. Compile and respond to emails in a professional manner. Will need basic to intermediate Excel and Word knowledge. Both are a big part of the job, especially when working from home and everything is saved digitally. Assists whenever necessary, by answering incoming telephone calls; sorting mail; filing; direct interaction with employees; working on special projects. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act requirements, payroll tax standards, basic accounting principles of debits and credits. Previous payroll experience is required. This is a hybrid position: Will be required to work onsite for the first 2-4 months during the initial training period; periodically as needed for on demand training, as the need arises. Once the initial training period is over, they will be able to work from home (WFH) if they have reliable internet service and a quiet workspace, as stated in our WFH policy and guidelines. Once WFH is offered, they will be required to come into the office the equivalent of 2 times a week (8 days per month), on a rotating schedule with the rest of the payroll staff . More information on this process will be discussed, in more detail, during the interview process.
