About The Position

Position Summary The Payroll Supervisor oversees day-to-day payroll operations and supervises payroll specialists responsible for company driver payroll and lease settlement processing. This role is responsible for workflow coordination, first level decision making, and issue resolution to ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely. The Payroll Supervisor is accountable for payroll execution performed by the team and serves as the primary point of contact for payroll related issues. The Payroll Supervisor supports the Senior Manager of Payroll and escalates complex, high risk, or non-standard issues as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of payroll processing experience, including experience in high-volume or operational payroll environments
  • 1 to 2 years of leadership or lead payroll experience preferred
  • Experience with Paycom payroll and HRIS system required
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxation, and wage and hour compliance
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with ability to validate and reconcile payroll data
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Effective problem solving and analytical capabilities
  • Experience working with third party vendors such as Comdata, JP Morgan, and other payroll related providers
  • Ability to partner effectively with HR, Accounting, and Operations teams
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
  • Standard office environment with normal business hours.
  • Occasional extended hours during payroll processing cycles or year-end activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Transportation or trucking industry payroll experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise payroll specialists responsible for company driver payroll and lease settlement processing and manage daily payroll workflow to ensure deadlines are met
  • Own coordination of payroll processing activities to ensure timely and accurate completion of payroll cycles
  • Review payroll calculations, adjustments, and settlements prior to payroll submission
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies within defined scope
  • Serve as primary point of contact for payroll issues and determine appropriate resolution or escalation
  • Ensure adherence to payroll policies, procedures, and deadlines
  • Enforce payroll accuracy standards across the payroll team
  • Provide training, coaching, and operational guidance to payroll staff
  • Support payroll reporting and compliance monitoring activities
  • Assist with payroll process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Serve as operational backup for the Senior Manager of Payroll
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Payroll
