Healthcare Student Only - PCA Training Program
About The Position
This PCA Training Cohort is designed for students actively enrolled in a healthcare major such as nursing. (future cohorts will be open to non-healthcare students) What you will Do: The PCA Training course will be a two week course that will prepare you to care for patients in our Acute Care setting for the Summer Only PCA role. The PCA Training Program is 75 hours in length, inclusive of classroom, skills lab and clinical hours. Hours/Schedule: The course will be Monday - Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm The Summer Only PCA program will be either day shift (7 a - p) or night shift (7 p - 7a) and is only open during the summer on Acute Care floors. The course will be held from 5/18/26-5/29/26
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a healthcare major (this cohort only)
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Acceptance into the Patient Care Assistant training program.
- Must successfully complete the PCA Training Program with time frame identified in job offer. (5/18-5/29/26)
- Must attend each class in full to successfully complete the PCA Training Program.
- Is able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.
- Is able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.
- Must have a general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. Healthstream, internet, etc.)
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
