About The Position

The Pump Accessories Technician is the hands‑on specialist who installs, inspects, repairs, and troubleshoots all peripheral components that keep pumping systems running. These accessories include auto‑gate valves, hot N₂ injection lines, vacuum fittings, gaskets, and exhaust lines that feed scrubbers. Working in a fast‑paced semiconductor / clean‑room environment, the technician ensures that every accessory is correctly positioned, properly sealed, and fully operational to maintain process purity and equipment uptime.

Requirements

  • High‑school diploma or GED required. An associate degree in mechanical technology, industrial maintenance, HVAC, or a related field is highly preferred. Relevant work experience in pump accessories maintenance and repair will be considered a substitute for formal education.
  • Minimum two years of hands‑on experience working with automotive, HVAC, or industrial pump accessories. Direct exposure to auto‑gate valves, hot N₂ injection systems, vacuum lines, or scrubber exhaust lines is strongly desired.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read mechanical drawings, valve datasheets, and HVAC schematics, Familiarity with SCADA/PLC interface wiring, Basic understanding of fluid‑dynamic principles and pressure‑drop calculations.
  • Soft Skills: Independent, problem‑solver with a proactive attitude, Excellent teamwork and communication abilities, Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical Knowledge – Strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum accessories; ability to read valve plots, flow‑rate charts, and pressure‑drop diagrams.
  • Hands‑on Ability – Proficient with hand and power tools; comfortable working in confined spaces and around high‑pressure/hot surfaces.
  • Diagnostics – Use 5‑Why, Pareto, and trend‑analysis to isolate faults; familiarity with pressure‑test gauges, leak‑detectors, and temperature probes.
  • Documentation – Ability to read/write technical drawings and SOPs; maintain accurate logs in the EAM/ERP system.
  • Safety Mindset – Strict adherence to LOTO, chemical handling, and electrical safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Installation & Commissioning Assemble and mount auto‑gate valves, N₂ injectors, vacuum lines, and exhaust connections on pump housings. Wire valves and sensors to the plant SCADA/PLC system, ensuring correct signal paths and alarm logic. Perform leak‑tightness tests, pressure checks, and functional validation before hand‑over.
  • Inspection & Preventive Maintenance Conduct daily visual and functional checks on all pump accessories. Replace worn or corroded gaskets, seal rings, and valve diaphragms according to the preventive‑maintenance schedule. Log inspections in the EAM system and trigger spare‑part requisitions when needed.
  • Repair & Troubleshooting Diagnose failures of auto‑gate valves, N₂ injection systems, or vacuum lines using pressure gauges, flow meters, and inline sensors. Remove, clean, or replace faulty components; re‑assemble with correct clearances. Verify recovery of pressure profiles, flow rates, and N₂ purity before re‑commissioning.
  • Calibration & Verification Calibrate flow meters, pressure transducers, and temperature sensors on each accessory set to factory or industry specifications. Keep calibration logs current and provide reports to the QA team.
  • Documentation & Reporting Update punch list, work‑order, and maintenance logs. Prepare daily shift reports summarizing inspections, repairs, and any abnormal events. Ensure all accessory installations meet traceability requirements (serial numbers, supplier information, I/O tags).
  • Safety & Compliance Follow lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) and electrical lock‑out procedures before any repair work. Observe all OSHA, ISO , and plant‑specific safety policies. Participate in safety meetings and recommend process improvements or PPE enhancements.
  • Continuous Improvement Suggest component upgrades that reduce pressure drop or improve reliability. Work with stakeholders to audit part‑index and develop spare‑part stocking plans.
  • Stakeholder Coordination Liaise with process engineers, production supervisors, and vendors to schedule maintenance windows and order replacement parts. Provide technical support during new pump installations or refurbishments.
