Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking for a Cardiac Catheterization Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to administer patient care in an area in a hospital or inpatient setting where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient’s medical condition. These areas require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills. Job Title: Registered Nurse, Advance Dept.: APH Cardiac Cath Lab Status: Variable Full Time Shift: First - Monday through Friday Scheduled on‑call responsibilities, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned to support emergent cases The APH Cardiac Catheterization Lab Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to neonate, pediatric, and adult patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular, electrophysiology (EP), interventional radiology, and hybrid surgical procedures. The RN functions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary Cath Lab team, supporting safe, high‑quality care across a wide range of complex procedures performed in collaboration with cardiology, radiology, anesthesia, and operating room teams. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Florida RN license or compact state license
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Cardiac nursing
  • Pediatric nursing
  • Pre‑operative or PACU nursing
  • Surgical services
  • BLS required (ACLS/PALS per departmental standards and orientation requirements)

  • Previous Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
  • Assist with cardiac and electrophysiology interventions, interventional radiology procedures, and combined cases with the Operating Room team
  • Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses during procedures
  • Maintain sterile technique and assist with procedural setup, equipment operation, and supplies
  • Collaborate with physicians, technologists, anesthesia, and nursing colleagues to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in emergency response, including rapid interventions for procedural complications
  • Complete accurate documentation and adhere to all regulatory, safety, and infection‑control standards
  • Maintain required competencies and participate in ongoing education and annual clinical review
  • Monday through Friday, variable full‑time schedule
  • Scheduled on‑call responsibilities, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned to support emergent cases
  • Comprehensive Cath Lab–specific orientation with experienced preceptors
  • Orientation length adjusted based on prior experience and competency validation
  • Ongoing education related to new equipment, procedures, and policies
