About The Position

Nemours Children’s Hospital is seeking a psychologist to join our Clinical Child and Community Psychology team at our main campus and new Kingswood Community Center clinic, both located in Wilmington, DE. As part of our vision to create the healthiest generations of children, Nemours Children’s Health has invested in the redevelopment of the historic Kingswood Community Center in Wilmington’s Riverside neighborhood. The revitalized Kingswood Community Center will offer a comprehensive range of services, including early childhood education, fitness and arts programs, community outreach, and integrated health care. Nemours will provide a range of high-quality pediatric services, including primary care, specialty medical care, and behavioral health to increase access to care for local families. Our Clinical Child and Community Psychology services include: Early Childhood Program: outpatient consultation, assessment and intervention for early childhood concerns. Services include developmental assessment and evidence-based intervention (e.g., PCIT). Youth Mood and Anxiety Program: outpatient clinical services addressing the full spectrum of mood and anxiety concerns, including suicide prevention. Services include treatment for youth with depression, anxiety, OCD and repetitive behavior disorders, eating disorders, and our comprehensive outpatient DBT program. We are seeking candidates with training and experience in evidence-based family, individual, and group interventions addressing the above. We are looking for candidates with experience in evidence-based models (e.g. Parent Child Interaction Therapy, exposure-based CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT), and other family support interventions, and who also have a deep understanding of systemic barriers that impact families in receiving these services. Additionally, this position will have opportunities to serve as preceptors for externs, residents, and fellows in our Psychology Training Programs and medical residents on the Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and Mental Health rotations. Teaching, training, and mentoring are core values in our division and these efforts are supported and encouraged. Psychologists are members of the medical staff at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and are supported with applying for an academic appointment through the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. This role includes many opportunities to participate in program development, leadership, advocacy, and community outreach. In addition, there will be opportunities for quality improvement and research initiatives. Our division collaborates with our research colleagues in the Nemours Center for Healthcare Delivery Science (https://www.nemours.org/pediatric-research/area/health-care-delivery-science.html [https://www.nemours.org/pediatric-research/area/health-care-delivery-science.html]).
