About The Position

Shriners Children’s Philadelphia is where hope and healing meet. Our team of highly specialized physicians provides comprehensive care for children with fractures, sports injuries, orthopedic conditions, scoliosis, spinal cord conditions, and spine injuries. Shriners Children's Philadelphia has an opportunity for a full-time day shift Pediatric Registered Nurse in our PICU. PICU nurses provide intensive care to critically ill pediatric patients. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to help our patients through their journey from the moment the child is wheeled through the door through the time the child leaves to go home. Many of our patients return for follow up care as they grow. This will give you an opportunity as a nurse to see your great work shine through the child as they grow older. Hours: This full-time position will work 72 hours bi-weekly on a rotating shift of days and nights.

Requirements

• BSN degree or in process
• Pennsylvania RN license
• BLS
• PEAR, PALS, ACLS: Obtain within 1 year of employment

Nice To Haves

• Two years acute care nursing experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Assesses comprehensive data including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs and interprets assessment information to derive the diagnosis.
• Involves patient, family and health care team members in formulating a culturally appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
• Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family and health care team members.
• Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
• Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
