Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) are responsible for providing appropriate evaluation, diagnosis, plan of care, and therapeutic interventions in the areas of speech and language, voice, fluency, social communication, and feeding/swallowing. The SLP will work directly with patients, their families, and collaborate with healthcare providers and other professionals in providing education, counseling, and facilitation of additional care/intervention as needed. Additionally, pediatric SLPs provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and or language comprehension disorders.
