About The Position

As a Pediatrician for Swope Health Pediatrics Clinic in Leavenworth, KS, you will be part of a team of caregivers to provide care for the kids in our community that need it the most. The pediatrician creates and implements medical care programs for children from birth to adolescence to aid in mental and physical growth and development. You play a vital role for the patient centered medical team to provide quality, patient centered care. Requirements

  • Board Certification and licensed in Kansas/Missouri.
  • Successful completion of an accredited three-year pediatrics residency program.
  • Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BCLS), certified.
  • Excellent communication skills must be patient and caring and able to foster long-term relationships with the children and their parents.

Responsibilities

  • Examines patients to determine presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices.
  • Develops programs utilizing staff and outside resources to ensure that children receive comprehensive medical care.
  • Assists in preparing nurses for expanded roles in the Pediatrics Clinic.
  • Ascertains nature and extent of disease or injury in patients, prescribes and administers medications and immunizations or delegates immunizations duties to the nurse.
  • Performs a variety of other medical duties as are necessary to fulfill the goals of the pediatric programs.
