About The Position

Mary Bridge Children’s multi-disciplinary approach to care includes pediatric experts for emergency services, inpatient care, and outpatient specialty clinics, all specializing in kids and their unique needs. FTE: 0.9 , Shift: Days + Call, Schedule: 12-hour shifts Position Summary The Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Technician at Mary Bridge Children’s will provide advanced technical and patient-care support for diagnostic and interventional pediatric EP procedures, including intracardiac mapping, ablations, device implantation (pacemakers/ICDs), and EP studies in infants, children, adolescents, and adults with congenital heart disease. The role emphasizes family-centered care, radiation safety/ ALARA, and seamless coordination across the Mary Bridge Children’s Heart Center’s multidisciplinary team. Through providing support during diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures, you will be able to apply your independent decision-making skills every day. The tech serves in the scrub, circulator, and recording role. The tech acquires/ measures/ calculates hemodynamic data, performs blood work analysis, prepare procedure rooms, preps patients for procedures, transports patients to and from the lab, cleans procedure rooms, and prepares instruments for re-sterilization. The tech directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff, and patients and adheres to regulatory practices within the cardiac cath/EP lab.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology or radiology program.
  • Current Washington State Radiologic Technologist certification or as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or currently enrolled and in second year of an Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist program
  • Current RCIS or ARRT certification or commitment to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Registered ARRT (VI) or Registered ARRT (CI) preferred
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) registry as a standard for care provision, previous experience and RCES registry or commitment to obtain within six (6) months of employment
  • Current AHA, BLS, and ACLS CPR certifications at the time of hire; PALS strongly preferred (or obtained within 6 months)
  • At least one year of diagnostic radiology or interventional radiology experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric EP experience in a tertiary or quaternary care center
  • Experience with 3D mapping systems (e.g., CARTO/EnSite), ICE, low‑/zero‑fluoro workflows, and robotic magnetic navigation (e.g., Stereotaxis) for complex anatomies preferred
  • Strong knowledge of congenital heart disease and pediatric hemodynamics
  • Familiarity with ECMO and hybrid OR procedures preferred
  • Current Washington State Radiologic Technologist certification or as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or currently enrolled and in second year of an Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist program
  • RCIS or commitment to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Current AHA, BLS and ACLS CPR certifications at time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain EP lab environment, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards.
  • Perform direct patient care activities under the direction of the Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab/ EP Registered Nurse and/or the Cath Lab Operations Manager as necessary and appropriate
  • Set up EP/Cath equipment and supplies; verify function and calibration of electrophysiology recording systems, stimulators, and 3D electro‑anatomic mapping platforms.
  • Maintain sterile field and infection‑control standards.
  • Perform and document equipment QC; maintain inventory at specified par levels.
  • Serve in scrub, circulator, and recording roles for EP procedures (e.g., SVT/VT/VF pathway mapping and ablation, EPS, temporary/permanent pacemaker and ICD implants), including hemodynamic data acquisition and calculations.
  • Operate fluoroscopic systems with ALARA principles; utilize non‑fluoroscopic 3D mapping and image‑guided navigation to minimize radiation exposure for pediatric patients.
  • Support ICE/echo, IVUS (if applicable), and assist with catheter/device management; troubleshoot system and signal quality issues.
  • Support patient care before, during, and after procedures, including transport and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
