About The Position

We are looking to hire a co-Peer House Leader for the Freedom Recovery Residence program. Reporting to the Program Manager, under close supervision, the role of the Peer House Leader is to model recovery and provide peer support for the participants of the program. The Peer House Leader (PHL) for Freedom Recovery Residences is a supportive role to the participants of Recovery Residence Program. PHL will be assigned to a site where they will live as well as be first contact around site emergencies such as facility emergencies, medical emergencies, and other unsafe situations. About the Freedom Recovery Residence Program Freedom Recovery Residence of Encompass Community Services is a 10 bed all male step down facility located in Aptos, CA, which operates under the guidance of a Peer House Leader. Participants in this house will attend outpatient services and other recovery related activities, work with a case manager, and move towards attaining employment or education opportunities and sustainable housing. About Encompass Community Services Encompass Community Service strives to provide our community with a wide range of services related to family & social well-being, early childhood education, behavioral health, housing and more. Requirements

  • Lived experience of Substance Use Disorder and subsequent recovery
  • Awareness of SUD supportive services, such as social support meetings
  • Criminal record clearance
  • Effective verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Following all aspects of the Employee Code of Conduct, establish a peer support relationship with program participants.
  • Help supervise chore schedule.
  • Cooking and/or facilitating daily meal
  • Grocery Shopping
  • Offering new participant orientation
  • Transporting participants to meetings
  • Ensuring house rules are adhered to
  • Running house meetings
  • Curfew checks
  • Doing toxicology screenings
  • Collecting data
  • Attend team meetings and multi disciplinary meetings
  • Communicate and coordinate with maintenance staff regarding property repairs.
  • Communicate and coordinate with staff regarding stock of household supplies (cleaning supplies, first aid supplies, etc.)
