Lake Michigan Insurance Agency (LMIA), owned by Lake Michigan Credit Union, is seeking a Personal Lines Account Manager to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a customer-focused insurance professional who enjoys building relationships, managing multiple priorities, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. As a Personal Lines Account Manager, you will be responsible for servicing and supporting personal insurance clients while working closely with Producers and the Sales team to ensure a seamless client experience. Requirements

  • A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours.
  • Active Property & Casualty License, or willingness to obtain one within a designated timeframe.
  • Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AMS360 is a plus.
  • Proficiency navigating carrier portals and agency management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for personal lines clients. assisting with: coverage questions and explanations; Policy exclusions and recommendations; Billing inquiries and premium payments; General insurance-related questions
  • Answer inbound client calls and provide timely, accurate support.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, and premium payments using the agency management system
  • Review and process policy renewals and remarkets to ensure appropriate coverage and competitive pricing
  • Evaluate non-renewals and cancellations, determining next steps and taking appropriate action
  • Partner closely with Producers and the Sales team on new business submissions and changed to existing accounts
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with agency and carrier standards
