About The Position

The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors’ apartment units, with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area. The Personal Support Worker (PSW) will provide personal care to assist clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene. The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
  • Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long term care setting an asset
  • Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
  • Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset
  • Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
  • Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset
