About The Position
Metro Physical Therapy is looking for a certified Personal Trainer to work with us in a per diem capacity starting Spring 2026 . This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible scheduling , making it a great option for trainers looking to earn some extra income while building experience! Quick details: Pay: $45–$50/hour Role: Per Diem Personal Trainer (1099) Start: Spring 2026 Schedule: Flexible Location: Training sessions will take place at various Metro PT clinics throughout Nassau County Additional opportunity available to teach exercise classes to our senior patients if you're interested!
Requirements
- Previous experience as a personal trainer or relevant role.
- MUST HAVE a current certification in personal training
- Must come with liability insurance
- Certificates in CPR and first aid.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate clients’ fitness levels and health conditions.
- Identify clients that should consult with a professional therapist before exercising or need to start with therapy prior to exercising.
- Build individualized exercise programs and when appropriate in conjunction with the appropriate therapist.
- Lead both individual and group training sessions, exercise classes and aqua fitness classes.
- Promote the gym’s fitness options and therapy services.
- Perform CPR and administer first aid in case of emergencies.
- Advise customers on how to change nutritional and lifestyle habits as needed
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Metro, rules and policies, and works to ensure the compliance with the stated parameters.
