POSITION SUMMARY An Apothecary Pharmacist is responsible for assuring all prescriptions within the department are filled, verified, dispensed and delivered with utmost accuracy, as well as with care and concern for the patient’s wellbeing and satisfaction. The candidate must exhibit expertise, professionalism and willingness to provide information and solutions to patients and other members of the health care team to ensure effective medication use. Located within East Alabama Medical Center, the Apothecary Pharmacist practices in a unique work environment serving employees, outpatients, and discharging patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Alabama State Board of Pharmacy Active Registered Pharmacist License and Controlled Substance Permit
  • BLS within 30 days hire/transfer

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of retail pharmacy practice experience
  • Previous experience with ScriptPro Pharmacy Management System or ScriptPro Robotics Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • BLS Certification
  • APhA’s Medication Therapy Management certificate
  • APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist certificate
