About The Position

The Pharmacist/Resident is a part of a 24 month, structured, experiential training program in which the resident works toward meeting all PGY1 pharmacy residency program requirements while concurrently working as a staff pharmacist. Responsible for a combination of clinical and distributive pharmacy services necessary for the provision of high quality pharmaceutical care to Froedtert patients. Interact with other members of the health care team to proactively address drug therapy issues. Participate in a variety of intradepartmental and interdepartmental projects and activities and is expected to support the department in times of unanticipated need.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics, acquired through a combination of school and clerkship experience, in order to recommend appropriate and patient specific therapeutic regimens and subsequently monitor outcomes is required.
  • Pharm. D. degree received from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy or equivalent as indicated by achievement of the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) Certification is required.
  • Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License is required or eligible for and must obtain within 6 months.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals, administrators, and patients.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft computer programs including, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
