About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for verification, dispensing and monitoring medication therapy, and providing drug information for multiple hospital facilities. Other duties include supervising and directing support personnel, adverse event monitoring, participating in medication use performance improvement activities, and serving as a resource for pharmacy policies and procedures and regulatory compliance. Remote order entry pharmacists may be asked to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge for out of state pharmacist licenses and must maintain licensure in multiple states simultaneously according to remote facility location and state pharmacy regulations. SHIFT DETAILS: Evenings, may rotate weekends. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department. Maintains competence required for current job title/position. Training and proficiency in age specific therapies for hospital patients: Neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric. Customer oriented at all times - must be diplomatic. Work within a diverse workforce. Pressure to perform in emergency situations. Overall decision-making responsibility. Ability to handle multiple projects and constant interruptions. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Multilingual preferred. Position is classified as OSHA Category II, where regular job duties have continuous potential of exposure to blood borne pathogens throughout the day. Steady, active work that may include walking, standing, sitting, bending and stooping. Work may involve transporting supplies. Requirements

Graduate of college of Pharmacy accredited by ACPE or equivalent.
Current license to practice Pharmacy in State and maintains all required CE.
