The Pharmacy Intern – Community Pharmacy, PRN supports a high-volume outpatient pharmacy located in the Crile Building, which fills approximately 500–800 prescriptions per day. This role works closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and patients while assisting with a variety of pharmacy workflows, including register support, patient service, prescription filling, and inventory management. The position offers hands-on experience in community pharmacy operations within a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday between 7:30am and 6:15pm. Weekend rotations will occur at the Euclid Ave. pharmacy. Interns will work full-time during the summer and as able to during the school year. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related issues. Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate. Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas. Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients. Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy Program meeting education requirements to qualify for an Intern License in the State of Ohio OR international pharmacy experience meeting the requirements to qualify for the Foreign Graduate Pharmacy Intern License
  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before hire
