Pharmacy Tech II Outpatient Pharmacy
About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician II for our Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA. The Pharmacy Technician II performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Participates in the training of new employees Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to pharmacy operations Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
- Two years of Pharmacy Technician experience (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a high-pace/high-volume store with data entry and handling insurance adjudications (Preferred)
- Familiar with managing inventory, cycle counts, and a good knowledge of handling the pharmacy queues to prioritize workflow (Preferred)
