Pharmacy Tech - Inpatient - Youth Apprentice As Needed Oshkosh Major Responsibilities: Observes and assists the pharmacy department to gain knowledge of the pharmacy technician role to determine career path options while in high school. Learns and demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members and patients. Learns and demonstrates competency in dispensing and delivery of medications. This includes developing competence in the department’s use of information systems, technology, and automation used for dispensing and storage of medications. Learns and demonstrates competency in prescription processing, including obtaining required patient information, data entry, record keeping, insurance verification and label generation. Learns and demonstrates compliance of legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. This includes but is not limited to USP requirements, HIPAA, and controlled substance procedures. Learns and participates in non-sterile and sterile compounding preparation in accordance with USP guidelines. Learns and demonstrates competency in department safety strategies related to error prevention. This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
