About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED plus specialized, short-term training in the areas of pharmacy law, practices standards, terminology, pharmacy math, drug preparation, dosage forms and trade/generic names.
  • Pharmacy Technician National Certification through exam or transfer required.
  • Active New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. pharmacy technician license required.
  • At least two years-experience in pharmacy
  • Completion of Crucial Conversations, Appreciative Coaching and Influencer training for Lead Technicians and Lead Administrative Technician
  • Successful completion of PHS Sterile Products Compounding Competency and Hazardous Medication Training for all employees preparing sterile, hazardous medications.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as Lead Technician in assigned area of work
  • Actively participates in the Quality Process, including improvement initiatives
  • Actively participates in policy, procedure and standard work development
  • Supports leadership to drive Employee and Customer Engagement
  • Or, Primary responsibility is to prepare sterile hazardous (ie Oncology)
  • Or, Operates in lead administrative technician position within the department
  • Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled substances.
  • Performs other functions as required.
