About The Position

Capable to perform the duties of Pharmacy Technician I. May provide training to less experienced technicians in job duties, procedures and techniques. Monitors and documents trainee performance, identifying areas for improvement and reports to designated pharmacist/lead technician and/or pharmacy technician supervisor. Trains to perform quality controls checks of medication orders and doses distributed following established procedures and schedules. Trains to compares pharmacy and nursing records to ensure match of medication orders. Trains to count and reconcile actual dosages dispensed, delivered and remaining in medication bins against pharmacy and nursing records. Trains to identify, document, research and report and/or resolve errors, discrepancies and unused doses, as required. May train to input physicians' medication orders on departmental computer system. Maintains knowledge of current professional trends and practices through participation in professional organizations and attendance at conferences, workshops and continuing education programs. The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
