About The Position

The Investigational Drug Pharmacy Technician will order and maintain investigational drugs, maintain accurate reports and established record keeping system for monitors, prepare, package, label, and distribute drug products under the direct technical supervision of the Investigational Pharmacist Specialist. Performs all required data entry and filing associated with the process and performs functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control procedures. Technician will participate in the Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs and collect data for workload measurements as needed or required.

Requirements

  • Prior experience (minimum 2 years) in a pharmacy preparing sterile I.V. admixture and total of at least five years experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must be able to demonstrate track record of exquisite attention to detail, outstanding math skills, and thorough knowledge of the laws and standards involved with hazardous drug storage, preparation, and labeling.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proper aseptic techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Degree or certificate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • 1+ year experience in admixing chemotherapy and/or investigational drugs
