Requirements

  • Compassionate and caring bedside manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work extremely well in a group setting.
  • Idaho State Board of Pharmacy License.
  • Idaho pharmacy technician license, required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical oncology terminology and experience preferred.
  • Certified pharmacy technician, earned by 6 months of employment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Place orders for oral medications and supplies.
  • Maintain organized records such as maintenance logs, calendars, reports, supplies for oral dispensary and daily dispense reports of oral medications.
  • Coordinate and authorize oral chemotherapy with patients.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of medications, supplies and transactions.
  • Ensure prescriptions are processed in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to management of pharmacy inventory, anticipate medication, and supply needs.
  • Submit and manage grants, insurance assistance, and prior authorizations for oral medication dispensary.
  • Comply with all applicable procedures, rules and regulations and adhere to all health and safety policies and protocols.
  • Prepare chemotherapy and pre-medications when help is needed in the mixing room.
  • Promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients/families between all members of the care delivery team.
  • Follows pharmacy code of conduct.
