About The Position

USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accepting applications for a Pharmacy Technician at the USC Medical Plaza Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for prescription order entry, filling prescriptions, compounding special orders, answering phones, retrieving messages, inventory maintenance and stocking shelves, maintaining the robot, conducting sales and operating POS devices. Additional duties will include filing paperwork, as well as obtaining prior authorizations and billing.

Requirements

• Valid CA Pharmacy Technician License Required
• Minimum Education: Specialized/Technical Training
• Minimum Experience: 1 Year
• Minimum Field of Expertise: Completion of accredited pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience as per Board of Pharmacy technician regulations, sec. 1793.4.
• Knowledge of pharmacy law, rules, regulations, pharmacology & medical terminology, manufacturing procedures.
• Valid Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Registration, State of California.

Nice To Haves

• Compounding non-sterile medications.
• Bilingual (English - Spanish) is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of TARS, Medicare billing, Third Party Insurance billing,
• RX30 software and inventory management skills a plus.
• CPhT certification a plus.
• Excellent customer service and high-level communication skills.
