About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in based in Somerset, Kentucky to cover southeastern and central Kentucky Work Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday – Friday between 8:00a.m. – 5:30p.m. with rotating Saturdays. This is a full time position working 40 hours per week. Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • Be at least 21 years’ old

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab setting

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
