About The Position

Overview Collects laboratory specimens from patients; performs routine laboratory tests; and performs various clerical duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and less than one year of specialized training or education.
  • Must have completed the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science approved phlebotomy program, or an acceptable formal structured phlebotomy program approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist as a prerequisite for phlebotomist technician, or have a minimum of one year full time experience as a Phlebotomist.
  • An additional three (3) months of experience is required.
  • An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must be a registered Phlebotomy Technician with American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) or equivalent or registry eligible and must obtain registry within six (6) months of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
