About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist with excellent people skills to join a Functional Medicine pediatric clinic. The ideal candidate will have prior pediatric phlebotomy experience or strong foundational phlebotomy skills with a genuine willingness to learn pediatric techniques. This role is perfect for someone who is patient, compassionate, and committed to supporting both young patients and team goals in a collaborative clinic environment. Pay: Starting at $18 per hour, with flexibility based on experience Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision with In-Network & Custom Network discounts 401(K) with discretionary employer match Paid Time Off Free clinical diagnostic laboratory testing performed in house In this role, you will be responsible for: Administrative duties: Providing excellent customer service to patients and families, answering phones, and monitoring for instrumentation alarms. Technical responsibilities: Performing venipuncture for blood collection, obtaining additional specimen types as required, and preparing all samples for lab testing and screening, with a focus on pediatric patients. Accurate data management: Verifying specimen information, performing data entry, and properly identifying patient information. Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity. Compliance: Following safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance activities. Flexibility: Supporting clinic operations and assisting with coverage as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day workflow. High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to ensure timely response to safety needs. Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield). Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day. Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed. OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of on-the-job phlebotomy experience required
  • Candidates without direct pediatric experience must have strong phlebotomy skills and the ability and willingness to perform pediatric blood draws
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with pediatric patients and their families
  • Patient, calm, and confident bedside manner
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric phlebotomy experience is strongly prioritized
  • Strong preference for candidates with a stable work history and minimal employment gaps
