Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Typing and basic computer skills required

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomy certification (CPT) or health related experience preferred
On the job training may be provided

Responsibilities

Demonstrating proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection using age‑appropriate techniques and devices
Ensuring safe handling and proper collection methods to maintain specimen integrity and quality
Correctly labeling, accessioning, and delivering specimens to the appropriate laboratory departments
Responding promptly and professionally to STAT, ASAP, NOW, and outpatient phlebotomy requests
Maintaining the specimen collection component of the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Performing patient registration functions for courier‑delivered specimens
Communicating effectively with clinical staff, laboratory personnel, and other departments
Alerting appropriate staff regarding STAT orders and other urgent needs
