About The Position

Located in Garfield Park, the child/adolescent partial hospitalization program (PHP) is designed for school-age children who may benefit from therapeutic behavioral health services but do not need 24-hour monitoring and adolescents ages 12 through 17 who struggle with a behavioral health disorder or mental health issues but are stable enough to live at home during treatment. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for quality psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic treatment of pediatric and adolescent. This is accomplished through preparation and facilitation of regular group therapy sessions designed to meet patients’ needs. The Group Facilitator guides and directs patient participation during group sessions, effectively addresses group dynamics, and observes patients’ individual responses to discussion and content. Responsible for documenting group notes including content, individual observations, and individual progress towards treatment goals. Maintains open communication with the Director of PHP Services, milieu management and treatment teams to support quality service delivery and ensure adherence to the daily programming schedule. Follows all policies/procedures related to release of information and Confidentiality. Regularly attends clinical supervision.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field and/or certified or licensed in a clinically related field.
  • Prior experience providing group facilitation.
  • Must have knowledge of group process, dynamics, and group safety precautions.
  • Knowledge in both process and psychoeducation group facilitation.
  • Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy theory and intervention.
  • Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with hospital staff (peers and leadership).
  • Good organizational skills, oral skills, and written communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience working with a psychiatric mental health population.
  • State license preferred.
