About The Position

Koniag Professional Services, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Physical Security Specialist (COMSEC) with a TS/SCI security clearance to support KPS and our government customer in Arlington, VA. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: Establish and keep current a library of National, DoD, DARPA and SID publications relative to the COMSEC effort. Troubleshoot equipment and take corrective action where authorized, or by arranging corrective action by COMSEC support agencies. Maintain the DARPA COMSEC account(s). As appropriate, order and issue rekeying material, and rekey COMSEC equipment. Act as the SID point of contact for classified Video Teleconferencing (VTC) activities. Receive, transmit, control, safeguard, account for, destroy (to include emergency destruction plans and procedures), and deploy/place keying material, Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) and COMSEC equipment. Determine, in coordination with Personnel Security and others as appropriate, personnel suitability for access to COMSEC equipment and material. Develop, review, and submit to the Government, and upon approval, implement COMSEC policies, procedures, instructions, reports, and other documentation. Develop priorities for acquiring and deploying COMSEC equipment, to include replacement of obsolete, inoperable, or legacy equipment. Determine and/or identify COMSEC budget, equipment, material, and training needs/requirements, priorities, and deployment schedules. Develop and recommend for Government approval and upon approval provide COMSEC awareness, training, briefings, and guidance relative to COMSEC. Conduct COMSEC assessments, inventories and inspections in accordance with National COMSEC and DARPA requirements. Oversee the placement and use of COMSEC equipment and material to assure that placement and use accords with COMSEC requirements. Determine and implement COMSEC requirements, to include TEMPEST concerns relative to COMSEC. Periodically conduct research into the latest technology available and provide recommendations to the Government stemming from the results of the research and the potential for using the technology. Provide counterintelligence/intelligence information relevant to COMSEC activities. Conduct inquiries and investigations where COMSEC material and equipment is involved, to include maintaining a COMSEC Emergency Action Procedures Report.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of Communications Security and physical security requirements.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience applying the functions required by this contract in a classified environment, preferably in DoD on SAP and SCI programs as well as collateral.
  • High school diploma
  • Must obtain the following training certifications within six (6) months of hire: NSA approved courses of instruction in COMSEC Custodian, Distributed INFOSEC Accounting System (DIAS), Data Transfer Device (DTD), Key Management Infrastructure (KMI).
  • In good general health without physical impairments which would interfere with the performance of duties, including prolonged walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, moving rapidly to respond to various situations.
  • Be a US Citizen
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate SID and DARPA needs.
  • Be able to travel and perform work at other geographical locations.
  • Have the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language and have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Have the ability to accurately and completely prepare and maintain files, records, and reports and to convey factual information.
  • Have the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Have the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions with limited supervision.
  • Have skill in reading, writing, basic math, document composition, and analytical problem solving.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment on the contract.
  • Fluent in the written and spoken English language and shall have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Top Secret, with eligibility for SAP and SCI access.
