About The Position

Summary: The Physical Security Technician will provide technical expertise and interpret security policy guidance.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years relevant security experience.
  • HS diploma required - Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree preferred
  • GSA Vaults & Containers Course or a course of similar nature and length
  • Electronic Security Systems Design (ESSD) Course
  • Security Engineering Training (SET) Course
  • Kaba Mas X-10 Digital Lock Certification Course
  • Lenel Certified Associate, Professional, Expert or Design Architect
  • Final Top Secret personnel security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Good Organization Skills
  • Ability to resolve complaints and concerns
  • Ability to use established procedures
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English
  • Basic Computer Skills – Basic experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Serve in the Registrar / Activator role for the USAccess (HSPD-12) system in order to enroll, print, activate, and issue Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards as well as perform PIN resets and certificate updates.
  • Assist with tracking inventory of GSA Vaults and Containers, changing combinations (X10s), and updating and completing SF700s.
  • Issuance / retrieval of keys, PIV cards, and access FOBs.
  • Assist with tracking inventory of accountable items to include keys, PIV cards, access FOBs, credentials, badges, radios, and other government furnished equipment.
  • Assist with in-processing and out-processing of agency personnel, contractors, detailees, and platformers.
  • Conduct reviews / audits of access control and camera system records.
  • Experience with the installation, maintenance, and programming of a wide variety of electronic security systems to include access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and sound masking systems
  • Work closely with Guard Staff personnel to ensure physical security processes and procedures are followed.
  • Support the safety and emergency management programs.
  • Will assist with the roles and responsibilities of the National Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Office, as described in National Security Presidential Memorandum 28 (NSPM-28).
  • Supports special projects, as required.
