The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides skilled therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to support the recovery, mobility, and functional independence of patients in a hospital setting.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited PTA program
• Current state licensure (or eligibility)
• Experience in acute care or a comparable clinical environment preferred
• Licensed in the state which services are performed

Responsibilities

• Implementing individualized treatment plans
• Assisting with patient mobility and exercise programs
• Documenting progress in the electronic medical record
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe and efficient discharge planning
• Participate in team meetings
• Contributes to quality and process improvement initiatives
• Supports department goals for excellence in patient care and operational efficiency
